Lu Da Gun Wenwan Walnuts Pair | 41.0mm × 44.0mm | LDG-401

This single-inventory listing features the exact pair of Wenwan walnuts shown in the product gallery.

Stock ID LDG-401 is a substantial pair of Lu Da Gun Wenwan walnuts measuring 41.0mm × 44.0mm.

The pair has a broad, full-bodied profile with thick outer edges and a relatively low, rounded silhouette. The surface texture is composed of large, irregular blocks and recessed pits rather than very fine needle-like ridges, giving the shells a strong, weighty visual character.

A particularly noticeable feature is the thick central seam. Viewed from the sides, the seams project clearly from the shell body, while the surrounding texture remains broad and naturally uneven. The overall structure feels solid and mature, with generous width and a comfortable rounded body.

Both walnuts are closely coordinated in overall size, color, shell proportions, and texture style while retaining the small natural differences expected from an authentic pair.

The pair has been pre-cleaned / base-prepped and is ready for continued brushing and hand play.

Story of the Form

Lu Da Gun is recognized by its substantial body and distinctive, almost rolling rounded form.

This pair shows that character clearly. Rather than rising into a tall pointed silhouette, the shells spread outward with a broad shoulder and thick overall body. The result is a pair that looks substantial in the hand despite remaining within a practical 41–44mm size range.

The surface structure is also different from varieties built around narrow, sharply defined ridges. Here, the texture is broader and heavier, with large raised areas separated by deep natural depressions. These irregular blocks create a rugged surface that changes noticeably under different lighting and viewing angles.

The thick central seams provide a strong visual axis on both walnuts and help give the pair its recognizable architecture.

For collectors who prefer broad proportions, substantial shell presence, and less conventional surface texture, this pair offers a particularly distinctive character.

Characteristics

Broad Full-Bodied Shape
The pair carries substantial width and a low, rounded profile.

Thick Central Seams
Both walnuts show clearly raised seams that visually divide the shell structure.

Large-Scale Texture
The surface consists of broad natural blocks, recessed pits, and irregular valleys rather than very fine ridging.

41 × 44mm Presence
The dimensions give the pair a substantial feel without becoming excessively large.

Rounded Shoulder Structure
The outer body expands smoothly around the central texture, producing a dense and solid silhouette.

Natural Pairing
The two walnuts correspond closely in size, color, shell volume, and overall texture while preserving individual natural variation.

Care

During the early stage, regular dry brushing is recommended to keep dust from accumulating in the recessed areas.

Use a clean Wenwan brush to work around the central seams, natural pits, and deeper valleys. The broader texture of this pair makes these recessed areas particularly important during early maintenance.

Avoid soaking the walnuts or applying excessive oil. Normal hand contact combined with consistent brushing is generally sufficient for gradual patina development.

Keep the pair away from direct heating, strong air-conditioning, prolonged sunlight, and sudden changes in temperature or humidity.

When not in use, store them in a stable and dry environment.
