Stock ID BX-SY1A4 is a striking pair of Blizzard Wenwan walnuts measuring approximately 44.0mm × 45.0mm. This is a noticeably large-sized pair, with a bold presence in hand and a strong visual character.

The most distinctive feature of this pair is its dramatic, deeply layered surface. The texture is dense and turbulent, with sharply rising folds, irregular natural valleys, and a complex ridge structure that gives the pair a powerful, storm-like appearance. The overall look feels full, rugged, and highly sculptural.

Despite the strong texture, the body remains balanced and well-proportioned. The pair shows good consistency in shape, height, width, color tone, and structural character, while still preserving the natural individuality of each walnut.

At 44 × 45mm, this pair offers a substantial hand feel and is especially appealing to collectors who enjoy larger walnuts with strong relief and bold texture. The shell surface has excellent depth from multiple angles, making the pair visually rewarding both in hand and on display.

Story of the Form

Blizzard is a form that immediately stands out for its intensity.

Rather than relying on a clean or restrained surface, this type draws attention through its dense, storm-like shell structure. The ridges rise decisively, while the surrounding texture breaks into folds, pockets, and irregular natural formations that give the walnuts a restless, energetic appearance.

In this pair, that effect is especially strong. The surface feels active from every angle, yet the overall body remains stable and balanced. This combination of structure and fullness gives the pair both visual power and a satisfying hand presence.

The larger size further enhances the character of the form. At 44 × 45mm, the texture has enough scale to show clearly, and the walnuts feel substantial without losing coherence. For collectors who are drawn to bold structure and dramatic relief, this is a very expressive pair.

Care

For early-stage care, use regular dry brushing to keep the deeper recessed areas clean and gradually bring out the natural surface luster.

Because this pair has pronounced folds and layered texture, consistent brushing is especially helpful for maintaining clarity in the deeper areas.

Avoid soaking or over-oiling. In most cases, steady hand play combined with brushing is the best path toward an even and attractive patina.

Store in a stable, dry environment, away from direct heat, strong sunlight, and sudden humidity changes.
