Millstone “Flying Snake” Collector-Grade Wenwan Walnut Pair — 37.0mm x 36.0mm | MOFS-1201E

A distinctive Millstone Wenwan walnut pair with a naturally developed “Flying Snake” form and strong collector character. Measuring 37.0mm x 36.0mm, the pair combines the broad, substantial structure of Millstone walnuts with sweeping lateral ridges that extend outward from the body and create an unusually dynamic silhouette.

The most striking feature is the pair’s wing-like ridge structure. From the front, the raised edges stretch outward on both sides while the central bodies remain compact and upright. This creates the visual impression of a snake in motion, inspiring the collector nickname “Flying Snake.”

The form is entirely natural. The walnuts have not been carved or reshaped to create this appearance.

Selected as an E-grade collector pair, these two walnuts are closely matched in overall proportions, ridge development, shell tone, texture, and stance.

This is a one-of-one listing. The pair shown in the photographs is the pair you will receive.

The Story of the Form

Millstone walnuts are known for their broad bodies, strong ridge framework, and substantial visual presence. This pair develops that structure in an unusual direction.

Instead of remaining close to the shell, the main lateral ridges sweep dramatically outward, creating two extended “wings” around the compact central body. Viewed from the front, these raised edges form a flowing horizontal line, while the upright center provides contrast and balance.

This natural combination of movement and symmetry gives the pair its “Flying Snake” nickname.

The matching is particularly notable. Both walnuts share similar ridge height, outward extension, body fullness, texture density, and overall orientation. The result is a pair that appears highly coordinated without losing the organic variation of naturally grown shells.

Product Characteristics

• Distinctive Flying Snake form: Extended lateral ridges create a dramatic, flowing silhouette.
• Millstone structure: Broad bodies and substantial shell construction remain clearly visible beneath the unusual form.
• Strong ridge extension: The prominent edges project outward and visually frame the central bodies.
• Deep natural texture: Layered grooves and folded shell surfaces create strong dimensional detail.
• Collector-grade matching: Both walnuts show closely coordinated proportions, ridge structure, shell tone, and stance.
• Compact balanced size: At 37.0mm x 36.0mm, the pair combines manageable dimensions with a strong visual presence.
• Natural, unmodified form: The Flying Snake appearance developed naturally and has not been carved or altered.

Care

These walnuts have already been pre-cleaned and base-brushed. During the first month, store them in a sealed bag when they are not being handled, allowing them to acclimatize gradually to your environment.

Handle them with clean, dry, bare hands and brush the grooves gently with a clean, dry walnut brush. Pay particular attention to the deeper channels beneath the extended ridges, where dust can naturally collect.

Because of the projecting ridge structure, avoid drops or impact against hard surfaces.

Keep them away from water, oil, direct heat, and prolonged sunlight.
