Miniature Four-Ridge Wenwan Walnut Pair | 37.0mm × 38.0mm | XZSL-C1C4E

Product Description

This single-inventory listing features the exact pair of Wenwan walnuts shown in the product gallery. Carrying the stock ID XZSL-C1C4E, this unusual pair belongs to the miniature four-ridge form, distinguished by its cross-like rib structure and compact sculptural body.

Measuring approximately 37.0mm × 38.0mm, the pair is relatively compact in hand while presenting a much more complex structure than a conventional two-ridge walnut. Viewed from the base, four pronounced ridges radiate outward from the center, creating a distinctive four-pointed arrangement.

The broad ribs divide the shell into multiple textured sections, giving the pair an architectural, almost star-shaped appearance. Both walnuts show strong natural character, with closely related proportions and matching structural features.

The pair has been pre-cleaned and base-prepped for international shipping.

The Story of the Form

Traditional Wenwan walnuts are normally defined by two dominant ridges. This pair departs from that familiar structure.

Four major ribs develop around the shell, converging toward the center and producing an unusually complex geometry. When viewed from the base, the structure resembles a natural four-pointed star, while the side profile reveals how the individual ridges divide and shape the walnut body.

Its appeal comes less from conventional symmetry and more from the way the shell developed naturally into an uncommon architectural form.

At only around 38mm, the pair also combines this unusual structure with a relatively compact footprint, making it especially interesting for collectors who enjoy smaller walnuts with strong visual character.

Product Characteristics

• Natural four-ridge formation: The defining feature of this pair.
• Distinct radial base: Four strong ribs meet around the center.
• Compact dimensions: Approximately 37 × 38mm.
• Broad sculptural profile: The projecting ribs create substantial visual width.
• Deep natural texture: Strong valleys and raised folds remain clearly defined.
• Unusual viewing angles: The structure changes significantly when rotated in hand.
• Character pairing: Both pieces share the same rare structural language while retaining their natural individuality.
• Collector-oriented form: Particularly suited to collectors interested in uncommon Wenwan mutations and unusual shell architecture.

Care

These walnuts have been pre-cleaned and base-prepped.

During the first month, keep them in a sealed bag when not being handled so they can gradually acclimatize to your local environment.

Handle with clean, dry hands and brush regularly with a clean Wenwan brush.

Avoid water, oil, direct sunlight, heaters, air-conditioning vents, and sudden changes in temperature or humidity.

Because the four-ridge structure creates deeper recessed areas than a conventional walnut, regular brushing around the ridge intersections is recommended.
