Panlongwen Wenwan Walnuts Pair | Layered Coiling Texture & Balanced Form | 41 × 35 mm | PLW-19B6

Description

This listing features the exact pair shown in the photographs.

PLW-19B6 is a matched pair of Panlongwen Wenwan walnuts, measuring approximately 41 × 35 mm.

This pair is defined by a layered, flowing surface structure concentrated through the central face. The ridges fold and overlap naturally, creating the visual impression of coiling movement that gives the Panlongwen variety its name.

The central texture is relatively dense, while the outer sides remain broader and more open. This contrast gives the pair a strong visual center without making the overall form feel overly busy.

Viewed from the front, both walnuts share a closely matched outline and similar texture distribution. Their warm natural brown tone, rounded side structure, and coordinated central ridges make them visually cohesive while still preserving the subtle differences expected from naturally grown shells.

At approximately 41 × 35 mm, this pair has a substantial presence without feeling oversized.

Story of the Form

“Panlongwen” can be understood as a pattern of coiling or winding ridges.

Rather than presenting a simple linear texture, the surface of this variety develops through overlapping folds and curved transitions. These natural structures create the impression of movement across the shell.

On PLW-19B6, the effect is especially visible in the central areas. Multiple ridges converge and overlap, while the broader sides frame the denser center.

The result is a pair with both structure and rhythm — detailed enough for close inspection, but still balanced when viewed as a whole.

Characteristics

Layered Central Structure
The central face contains multiple natural folds and ridges that overlap to create strong depth.

Coiling Texture
The texture has a flowing, winding appearance rather than a rigid or repetitive pattern.

Broad Side Areas
The outer portions are relatively open, providing visual contrast with the denser central structure.

Balanced Pairing
The two walnuts are well coordinated in overall dimensions, color, and pattern distribution.

Natural Surface Variation
Small differences in ridge placement and texture remain visible between the two shells, preserving the individuality of the natural pair.

41 mm Width Class
The first measured dimension is approximately 41 mm, giving the pair a noticeable presence in hand.
