Pufferfish-Profile “White Lion Half-Wall” Wenwan Walnut Pair — 44.0mm x 41.0mm / 42.0mm x 39.0mm | BSZBB-1401E

Product Description

This one-of-one listing features the exact White Lion Half-Wall (Bai Shizi Banbi) Wenwan walnut pair shown in the photographs.

The two walnuts measure 44.0mm x 41.0mm and 42.0mm x 39.0mm. Unlike a conventional symmetrical Wenwan pair, this set is collected for its unusual Half-Wall structure and exaggerated side profile.

Viewed from the side, the broad projecting ridge wraps across the body while the upper and lower sections swell outward, creating a distinctive silhouette reminiscent of a pufferfish. The deeply textured lower structure contrasts with the smoother upper crown, giving the pair a sculptural, almost creature-like character.

The two walnuts are not identical in size, and that irregularity is part of the appeal of this unusual form. They are best appreciated as a character-driven collector pair rather than a precision-matched traditional pair.

The pair has been pre-cleaned and base-brushed for international shipping.

The Story of the Form

Bai Shizi, or White Lion, is a familiar Wenwan lineage, but the Banbi — “Half-Wall” — expression takes the form in a much more unusual direction.

The defining feature is the oversized lateral ridge that projects strongly around the walnut body. Rather than producing a conventional upright silhouette, the ridge divides the walnut visually into upper and lower masses.

On this particular pair, the combination of the projecting ridge, rounded body, compressed stance, and layered texture produces an especially distinctive “pufferfish” profile.

It is precisely this unconventional architecture—not perfect symmetry—that gives BSZBB-1401E its collectible personality.

Product Characteristics

• Pufferfish-like silhouette: Broad, rounded body with an unusually projecting central ridge.
• Half-Wall architecture: The lateral ridge visually divides the shell into strong upper and lower sections.
• Sculptural profile: Especially striking when viewed from the side and three-quarter angles.
• Deep lower texture: Layered cavities and folds create pronounced depth beneath the ridge.
• Natural asymmetry: The two walnuts differ in dimensions and individual form.
• Large hand presence: The larger walnut reaches 44.0mm in width.
• Unusual collector character: Better suited to collectors who appreciate rare shapes and natural irregularity rather than conventional precision pairing.

Care

These walnuts have already been pre-cleaned and base-brushed.

During the first month, store them in a sealed bag when not being handled so they can gradually acclimatize to your local environment. Handle with clean, dry hands and brush regularly using a clean Wenwan brush.
