Qilin-Spined Hedgehog Wenwan Walnut Pair | 43.0mm x 43.0mm | QLCW-C1D0E

Product Description

This single-inventory listing features the exact pair of Wenwan walnuts shown in the product gallery. Carrying the stock ID QLCW-C1D0E, this highly distinctive pair is identified as Qilin-Spined Hedgehog, a dramatic and sculptural form prized for its flared wings, deeply carved texture, and striking silhouette.

Measuring approximately 43.0mm x 43.0mm, the pair presents a bold, full-bodied structure with strong horizontal expansion through the midline. From the side and cross-section views, the walnuts show wide projecting edges and a layered, almost flower-like spread. From the frontal view, the texture rises upward in clustered ridges, giving the pair a fierce, spined appearance reminiscent of both mythical qilin texture and hedgehog quills.

The two pieces are closely matched in size, body volume, wing spread, and overall spirit. Together they form a visually powerful collectible pair with strong presence in hand and in display.

The pair has been pre-cleaned and base-brushed for international shipping.

The Story of the Form

Some Wenwan walnuts impress through symmetry. Others leave a stronger impression through character.

This Qilin-Spined Hedgehog pair belongs to the second kind.

Its beauty lies in the dramatic combination of strong lateral spread and upright textural energy. The shells open outward through the waistline like wings, while the upper body rises in layered folds and clustered ridges. This creates a silhouette that feels both grounded and animated—broad at the center, but alive with movement throughout the surface.

The name reflects that visual effect. The ridges and flares suggest the mythic texture associated with qilin-like scales, while the clustered, outward-thrusting structure evokes the protective, spined look of a hedgehog.

For collectors who appreciate unusual form, strong presence, and sculptural depth, this is a pair with unmistakable individuality.

Care

These walnuts have already been pre-cleaned and base-brushed.

During the first month, keep them in a sealed bag when not being handled so they can gradually acclimatize to your local environment.

Handle with clean, dry hands and brush regularly with a clean Wenwan brush.

Avoid water, oil, direct sunlight, heaters, air-conditioning vents, and sudden changes in temperature or humidity.

Because this pair has deep folds and projecting ridges, brushing is especially important to keep dust and debris from settling into recessed areas.
