About the Variety

Deeply revered within traditional Wenwan culture, the historic Mantianxing lineage is known for its intense textural complexity, iron-like structural mass, and invigorating tactile feedback.

• The "Starry Sky" Texture Matrix: True to its name, the defining trait of this lineage is its surface landscape. The face of each shell is densely packed with thousands of tiny, pointed micro-nodules and sharp, compact wrinkles.
• Flawless 1:1 Proportions: This lineage naturally restricts excess vertical growth, packing its old-growth wood mass horizontally to form broad shoulders and a low, stable center of gravity. The rugged, heavily spiked channels offer incredible turning leverage and tactile feedback across the palm during daily rotation and sensory meditation.

This single-inventory listing features the exact, pair of Wenwan walnuts shown in the product gallery. Carrying the unique stock ID MTX-1401, this premier set belongs to the iconic "Starry Sky" (Mantianxing) lineage. Within the walnut-collecting hobby, this variety is known and instantly recognized by its breathtaking, hyper-dense nodular rind profile that mimics a sky densely clustered with stars.

Measuring a balanced 40.0mm in width and a matching 40.0mm in height, this pair achieves a flawless 1:1 geometric ratio. They feature a robust, squatted frame, characteristic low dropped shoulders, a flat foundation base, and an exceptionally sharp, dense texture matrix. Fully cured, meticulously cleaned, and seasoned, this pair is entirely ready for international shipping and immediate handling.

Key Characteristics of MTX-1401

• 40mm Square Frame: Standing at an identical 40.0mm in both height and width, this pair presents a highly, squatted 1:1 stance that rests solidly, heavily, and securely in the hand for active daily play (pan).
• Impeccable Morphological Matching: Finding independent Mantianxing walnuts that coordinate this seamlessly is exceptionally rare. The two pieces mirror each other beautifully, featuring uniform rind thickness, matching dropped shoulder curves, and closely synchronized side profiles.
• Dense Spiked Micro-Textures: The face of each shell highlights a sharp, tightly packed grid of interlocking knobs and deep craggy valleys, providing an exceptionally textured grip and visual depth.
• Symmetrical Grid Alignment: From both top-down and baseline perspectives, the set highlights perfectly straight main ridge paths and beautifully centered main edge tracks running across both rinds.
• Porcelain-Like Acoustic Chime: Because of the extra-thick wild timber rinds and extreme wood bone density, this pair generates a clear, solid, distinct porcelain-like ring when rotated against one another in the palm.

Care & Aging Info

Grown strictly for art, collection, and hand-play (pan), these walnuts are entirely distinct from common edible variants. Through regular handling with clean, bare hands, the high-density wood grain steadily absorbs natural skin oils.

Because of its bone density, the Mantianxing variety colors deeply and steadily, gradually transforming its initial raw ginger-clay wood tones into a breathtaking, translucent, glass-like jade-red patina. Because the signature texture paths are exceptionally complex, sharp, and deep, it is highly recommended to brush the crevices thoroughly with a standard bristle brush after each handling session to keep the valleys immaculate and ensure uniform color development.
