About the Variety

The Nanjiangshi variety is a historic lineage within the classic Lion Head family, recognized for its stone-like bone density. While a standard walnut grows natively with only two ribs, an extraordinarily rare genetic anomaly yields

This listing features the exact pair of walnuts shown in the photos. Stock ID NJS-808 is a naturally matched pair of traditional "Three-Ribbed" (San Leng Ben) Nanjiangshi walnuts. This pair measures exactly 40mm in width and 40mm in depth, combining a rare three-chambered geometry with a flawless 1:1 circular symmetry and a rock-solid flat-base architecture. [Product Characteristics of NJS-808]

• Flawless 1:1 Triangular Geometry: Measuring an identical 40.0mm in width and 40.0mm in depth. Hitting a perfect 1:1 round standard combined with a three-chambered layout provides a completely unique tactile rotation. Instead of rolling two flat faces past each other, the three prominent vertical ridges engage the hand dynamically, offering full-bodied volume that fills out the palm seamlessly.
• Textbook Flat-Base Stance: True to its premium lineage, this pair features an exceptionally flat, stable base that allows each walnut to stand completely upright on flat surfaces. The vertical seams are sharp and perfectly straight, diving symmetrically into the three right-angled corners.
• Brain-Coral Texture Matrix: The surface is formed by a tightly woven, deeply sculpted network of fluid ridges and pocketed valleys. This interlocking topography provides excellent natural traction against the skin, delivering an active and thorough palm massage during daily rotation without any sharp or prickly points.
• Resonant Stone Acoustics: Grown to full wild maturity with extra-thick internal chamber walls, this pair carries significant physical weight relative to its volume. When rotated past one another, they produce a distinct, high-pitched, metallic ceramic ring rather than a muffled wood clack.

[Maintenance & Aging Advice]

Because the "Nanjiangshi" variety features an extraordinarily high shell density and an intricate surface network of valleys, it is recommended to keep this pair in a sealed bag when resting between handling sessions for the first month. This practice safely traps natural skin oils to guide a uniform, blotch-free oxidation process across all three faces. Handling them directly with bare hands—completely skipping the use of gloves—is the definitive method to naturally develop a deep, translucent crimson patina.
