[About the Nanjiangshi Variety]
The Nanjiangshi variety is a historic lineage within the Lion Head family, recognized for its stone-like bone density and distinct structural traits. Its architecture is characterized by a flat, highly stable base that sits completely square on flat surfaces, broad shoulders, and an prominent, sharp centerline seam. Due to its thick shell walls and tight internal chamber structures, it carries a heavy unit weight and is known for having a slower, deeply layered oxidation process.
[Product Characteristics of NJS-804]
- The Balanced Squatted Geometry: Measuring a versatile 36.0mm in width paired with a 34.0mm belly depth. The 2mm differential creates a slightly squatted, blocky profile. This pocket-friendly 36mm format allows the two walnuts to sit closely together within the palm, providing an exceptionally smooth, friction-free roll without straining the fingers.
- Clean Cross-Axial Symmetry: This pair displays the typical structural marks of the lineage, including a stark vertical centerline and a flat base with a naturally engraved cross pattern at the center. The shoulders are squared and drop with excellent mirror balance on both sides.
- Brain-Coral Texture Matrix: The surface is formed by a tightly woven, highly detailed network of fluid ridges and deeply pocketed valleys, resembling the texture of brain coral. This intricate topography provides steady traction against the palm, delivering an active and thorough hand massage during rotation.
- Resonant Stone Acoustics: Grown to full wild maturity, the shell density of this pair is substantial. When spun past one another, they produce a distinct, high-pitched, metallic ceramic ring rather than a hollow wooden sound.
[Maintenance & Aging Advice]
Because the "Nanjiangshi" variety features an exceptionally high shell density and an intricate surface network of valleys, it is recommended to keep this pair in a sealed bag when resting between handling sessions for the first month. This practice traps natural skin oils effectively to guide an even oxidation across the entire surface area. Handling them directly with bare hands—completely skipping the use of gloves—is the recommended method to naturally unlock a translucent crimson patina over time.

Incredible service, I ordered a pair that sadly could not be shipped on account of a website error. Normally that would be a red flag; in this case however, an agent reached out to me immediately, allowed me to pick out an even higher quality pair and included some very thoughtful gifts. I’m extremely satisfied with my purchase and what started out as a mistake will have me returning here first whenever I want to expand my collection.
Class acts!
I ordered my Wenwans about 13 days ago. After contacting this company about a shipping issue they were able to solve it immediately as well as to rush the order. Literally just got mine today and they are absolutely gorgeous and very large! My Pair# is DGM-901. These are my very first high grades ones. Bought some crappy amazon ones for like 6 bucks to practice. I cannot wait to start my journey with these. I highly recommend this company for their outstanding customer service and quality control!
Thank you!
This company is Stellar. I’ve enjoyed the products I’ve Boughten for myself and gifts Ives given.
Love that you have miniature walnuts for those of us who have small hands.
These guys a great. Walnuts are high quality, and what you see is what you get, no random pairs that you may not like.
I've got 5 pairs off of them so far, and none have any flaws: no yellowing, pin holes, worm marks or cracks.
I'm not an expert, but I can't detect any dyes or processing on the nuts I have received.
They get back to you quickly if you have questions or issues.
Shipping is a couple weeks to canada since its off shore orgin. No big deal.
I do wish they would post the weights of the pairs as well in the listings, but this is minor.
I consider Zenwalnut to be the best north american walnut vendor hands down.
The box it came with is great and well made. The walnuts are out of this world. I don’t know how you find a three ridge mutation (Spartan motif) with such a good pairing. Even the basins complement each other, one elavated and the other depressed so they fit together. I highly recommend this seller if you want a reliable place where you can find rare, high quality walnuts. What you see in the pictures and videos is what you get. These are my second pair from zenwalnuts and I love both of them, thank you
The first pair I bought was a pair of minis, Packaging was amazing! Display case, and brushes were all under $100. I've been using them for just over a week. Excellent quality, I have dropped them once on accident of course over concrete while outside on the patio. I was quite concerned, I gave them a look over and no cracks, chips, or scratches were found. I am now looking into higher valued pairs. I will be buying other pairs for birthday gifts and collections. I posted them on FB and will continue to keep updates of the transformation every so often.
