Toad Head “Flying Snake” Wenwan Walnut Pair — 34.0mm x 39.0mm | HMTZF-CG245E

A distinctive Toad Head Wenwan walnut pair with a naturally expressive form collectors describe as “Flying Snake.” Measuring 34.0mm x 39.0mm, the pair combines compact rounded bodies with strong upper structure, sweeping ridge lines, and a lively silhouette that gives the walnuts their unusual character.

The nickname “Flying Snake” comes from the natural visual impression of the form: the upper sections appear to lift and stretch outward, while the lower bodies remain grounded and compact. The shells have not been carved or reshaped to create this appearance.

Both walnuts share a closely related structure, with similar body proportions, ridge flow, shell tone, and overall stance. Displayed side by side, the pair has a strong sense of movement while still preserving the substantial feel associated with the Toad Head variety.

This is a one-of-one listing. The pair shown in the photographs is the pair you will receive.

The Story of the Form

Toad Head walnuts are appreciated for their grounded body shape, dense texture, and strong natural character. In this pair, that traditional structure is paired with a more unusual visual rhythm.

Each walnut has a compact lower body and a more lifted upper section, where the ridges sweep outward and create an animated, directional silhouette. This natural line and movement are what inspired the collector nickname “Flying Snake.”

The shape is especially appealing because it feels both stable and dynamic at the same time. The bodies remain full and rounded, while the upper ridge structure introduces a sense of motion and personality.

The matching is also a key part of the appeal. The two walnuts show compatible height, width, texture density, ridge placement, and overall shell color, while still retaining the subtle differences expected from naturally formed shells.

Product Characteristics

• Balanced proportions: At 34.0mm x 39.0mm, the pair feels compact yet visually distinctive.

Care

These walnuts have already been pre-cleaned and base-brushed. During the first month, store them in a sealed bag when they are not being handled, allowing them to acclimatize gradually to your environment.

Handle them with clean, dry, bare hands and brush the grooves gently with a clean, dry walnut brush. Pay extra attention to the deeper channels and raised upper structure, where dust can naturally collect.

Keep them away from water, oil, direct heat, and prolonged sunlight.
