Broad-Bodied Concave-Base Pinggu Wenwan Walnut Pair — 37.0mm x 38.0mm | PGAD-SY1B8

Product Description

A distinctive Pinggu Concave-Base Wenwan walnut pair with broad rounded bodies, dense central texture, and naturally recessed bases. Measuring 37.0mm x 38.0mm, the pair has near-balanced proportions that give it a compact, substantial presence in hand.

The most recognizable feature is the concave-base structure. Rather than ending in a completely flat underside, the shell draws inward around the center, creating a more sculptural base profile. Across the front, layered ridges and recessed valleys build a dense central texture, while the outer walls remain broader and more rounded.

Both walnuts are closely coordinated in dimensions, body volume, ridge development, shell tone, and overall stance.

This is a one-of-one listing. The pair shown in the photographs is the pair you will receive.

The Story of the Form

This pair combines the broad, grounded character associated with Pinggu walnuts with a naturally developed concave base.

At 37.0mm x 38.0mm, the walnuts are almost equal in height and width, creating a compact and full-bodied silhouette. The outer shell remains rounded and substantial, while the center develops into a denser arrangement of folds, ridges, and recessed texture.

The underside gives the pair its most distinctive structural feature. Instead of sitting completely flat, the base draws inward toward the center, producing a recessed profile that adds visual depth when viewed from below or at an angle.

The result is a compact pair with strong body volume, layered texture, and a clearly defined natural form.

Product Characteristics

• Natural concave base: The lower shell draws inward around the center instead of forming a completely flat base.
• Broad Pinggu body: Rounded side walls create a substantial and grounded silhouette.
• Near-balanced proportions: 37.0mm x 38.0mm dimensions give the pair a compact, full-bodied appearance.
• Dense central texture: Layered folds and recessed valleys create strong three-dimensional detail.
• Pronounced ridge structure: Raised edges add definition across the front and side views.
• Well-matched pair: Both walnuts show closely coordinated dimensions, body volume, texture density, and shell tone.

Care

These walnuts have already been pre-cleaned and base-brushed. During the first month, store them in a sealed bag when they are not being handled, allowing them to acclimatize gradually to your environment.

Handle them with clean, dry, bare hands and brush the grooves gently with a clean, dry walnut brush. Pay particular attention to the deeper recessed areas around the central texture and concave base, where dust can naturally collect.

Keep them away from water, oil, direct heat, and prolonged sunlight.
