[The Story of the Nanguadun & Dragon Head Inlay] The Nanguadun (Pumpkin Pier) lineage is revered in traditional wood-bone collecting circles for its wide, rounded ribs, low-profile stature, and grounded base that directly mirrors the biological architecture of a ripe pumpkin.
In traditional cultural folklore, the pumpkin silhouette represents abundant harvest, grounded stability, and lasting wealth accumulation. The addition of the inlaid Dragon Head (Longshou) seal at the basal navel elevates this pair into an imperial talisman—symbolizing supreme leadership, protective energy, and focused willpower. Sourced from cold, high-altitude northern ranges, its ultra-dense wood-bone shell responds beautifully to bare-hand handling, slowly shifting from a warm golden-tan into a deep, highly translucent ruby-red patina that contrasts against the metallic glow of the dragon medallions.
[Product Characteristics of NGDXQ-SY1I7]
- Commanding 42x41mm Near-Isometric Silhouette: Measuring 42.0mm across the primary horizontal edges paired with a full 41.0mm vertical depth across the bellies. This subtle 1mm ratio gives the pair an authoritative, hand-filling presence. The broad horizontal footprint stretches comfortably across the palm, providing excellent mechanical leverage and a fluid circular roll.
- Intricate Melon-Rib Topography: True to its S-Grade pedigree, the exterior shell is sculpted with a masterfully balanced network of smooth vertical melon-rib channels, gentle wavy folds, and fine pocketed dimples. This continuous high-relief texture avoids fragile nodes, providing steady non-slip skin traction while delivering a soothing micro-massage to hand pressure points.
- Precision Dragon-Head Basal Inlay: Each walnut features a perfectly flat, expansive base centered with an inlaid dragon-head medallion. The circular inlays sit flush against the shell's radiant base patterns, allowing the pair to stand upright on display surfaces while remaining completely unobtrusive during handling.
- High-Density Wood-Bone Acoustics: Sourced from fully ripened heritage trees with thick internal chamber walls, this pair carries significant physical weight. When rotated or spun past one another, the mature bone-dense material produces a sharp, clean high-pitched chime rather than a muffled wooden clack.
[Maintenance Advice] Because the "Pumpkin Pier" lineage features a highly responsive, bone-dense shell structure with an intricate network of surface folds, it is recommended to keep this pair in a sealed bag when resting between handling sessions for the first month. This practice traps natural skin lipids to guide a uniform, blotch-free oxidation process across the ridges and recesses without affecting the inlaid metal medallions. Handling them directly with bare hands—completely skipping the use of gloves—is the definitive method to naturally mature this canvas into a brilliant, glass-like finish over time.

I am very happy with all my purchases and the attention given to each one. This is an outstanding company
Incredible service, I ordered a pair that sadly could not be shipped on account of a website error. Normally that would be a red flag; in this case however, an agent reached out to me immediately, allowed me to pick out an even higher quality pair and included some very thoughtful gifts. I’m extremely satisfied with my purchase and what started out as a mistake will have me returning here first whenever I want to expand my collection.
Class acts!
I ordered my Wenwans about 13 days ago. After contacting this company about a shipping issue they were able to solve it immediately as well as to rush the order. Literally just got mine today and they are absolutely gorgeous and very large! My Pair# is DGM-901. These are my very first high grades ones. Bought some crappy amazon ones for like 6 bucks to practice. I cannot wait to start my journey with these. I highly recommend this company for their outstanding customer service and quality control!
Thank you!
This company is Stellar. I’ve enjoyed the products I’ve Boughten for myself and gifts Ives given.
Love that you have miniature walnuts for those of us who have small hands.
These guys a great. Walnuts are high quality, and what you see is what you get, no random pairs that you may not like.
I've got 5 pairs off of them so far, and none have any flaws: no yellowing, pin holes, worm marks or cracks.
I'm not an expert, but I can't detect any dyes or processing on the nuts I have received.
They get back to you quickly if you have questions or issues.
Shipping is a couple weeks to canada since its off shore orgin. No big deal.
I do wish they would post the weights of the pairs as well in the listings, but this is minor.
I consider Zenwalnut to be the best north american walnut vendor hands down.
The box it came with is great and well made. The walnuts are out of this world. I don’t know how you find a three ridge mutation (Spartan motif) with such a good pairing. Even the basins complement each other, one elavated and the other depressed so they fit together. I highly recommend this seller if you want a reliable place where you can find rare, high quality walnuts. What you see in the pictures and videos is what you get. These are my second pair from zenwalnuts and I love both of them, thank you
The first pair I bought was a pair of minis, Packaging was amazing! Display case, and brushes were all under $100. I've been using them for just over a week. Excellent quality, I have dropped them once on accident of course over concrete while outside on the patio. I was quite concerned, I gave them a look over and no cracks, chips, or scratches were found. I am now looking into higher valued pairs. I will be buying other pairs for birthday gifts and collections. I posted them on FB and will continue to keep updates of the transformation every so often.
