Li Xuechao Three-Ridge “Heart-to-Heart” Wenwan Walnut Pair — 40.0mm x 38.0mm | LXCSN-1401E

A distinctive Li Xuechao three-ridge Wenwan walnut pair with an unusually expressive natural form. Measuring 40.0mm x 38.0mm, each walnut develops three pronounced ridge structures around a rounded body, while the overall silhouette creates a paired, inward-facing shape reminiscent of two hearts meeting together.

This appearance gives the pair its collector nickname “Heart-to-Heart” (Xin Xiang Yin / 心相印). The name refers purely to the natural visual character of the walnuts; the shells have not been carved or reshaped to create the form.

The pair is especially appealing when displayed side by side. Their body proportions, ridge direction, pointed lower sections, texture, and warm shell tone complement one another closely, creating a strong sense of visual connection.

This is a one-of-one listing. The pair shown in the photographs is the pair you will receive.

The Story of the Form

The character of this pair comes from the combination of a three-ridge structure and a naturally heart-like silhouette.

Each walnut develops multiple raised edges around the body, with a prominent central ridge and two additional structural ridges forming a strong three-sided profile. The lower portions taper toward a defined point, while the upper sections remain broad and rounded.

When the two walnuts are placed together, their shapes visually echo one another. The inward-facing curves and pointed bases create the impression of two forms responding to each other, which inspired the traditional-style nickname “Heart-to-Heart.”

The matching is particularly important in a pair with such an unusual shape. These two walnuts show compatible height, width, ridge structure, body fullness, texture distribution, and overall stance while still preserving the natural individuality of each shell.

Product Characteristics

• Natural three-ridge formation: Three structural ridge lines create an unusual multi-sided profile.
• Heart-like silhouette: Rounded upper bodies and tapered lower sections give the pair its expressive “Heart-to-Heart” appearance.
• Strong complementary pairing: The two walnuts visually mirror and respond to one another when placed side by side.
• Deep sculptural texture: Irregular valleys, raised shell sections, and layered ridges create strong dimensionality.
• Balanced proportions: At 40.0mm x 38.0mm, the pair has a full-bodied appearance without feeling oversized.
• Natural, unmodified form: The unusual geometry developed naturally and has not been carved or reshaped.

Care

These walnuts have already been pre-cleaned and base-brushed. During the first month, store them in a sealed bag when they are not being handled, allowing them to acclimatize gradually to your environment.

Handle them with clean, dry, bare hands and brush the grooves gently with a clean, dry walnut brush. Because this pair has deep texture and multiple ridge channels, pay extra attention to recessed areas where dust can collect.

Keep them away from water, oil, direct heat, and prolonged sunlight.
