Oversized Longding (Dragon Crown) Scholar Walnut Pair — 53.0mm x 53.0mm | LD-CWB5E

A one-of-one pair of oversized Longding scholar walnuts, measuring 53.0mm (Width/Edge) x 53.0mm (Depth/Belly).

The equal width and depth give this pair an unusually full, substantial form. Both walnuts display the defining Longding structure: broad crown-like edges, powerful shoulders, rounded bodies, and deeply layered natural texture.

Finding one well-formed Longding at this size is uncommon. Matching two with compatible volume, ridge structure, shell tone, and overall presence is considerably more difficult.

Both walnuts have been professionally pre-cleaned and base-brushed, providing a clean and even foundation for future handling and natural patina development. The photographed walnuts are the exact pair you will receive.

The Story of the Lineage

Longding is a distinctive traditional scholar walnut variety recognized for its commanding crown, outward-reaching edges, full belly, and substantial structure.

This pair measures 53.0mm in both width and depth, creating a particularly full and balanced body. The broad edges radiate across the surface, framing dense raised formations and recessed channels. Despite its large scale, the pair maintains compatible proportions and a strong visual relationship between the two walnuts.

Through regular bare-hand handling and dry brushing, the current warm shell tone is expected to gradually deepen and develop a smoother natural patina.

Product Characteristics

• Exceptional volume: Equal 53.0mm width and depth create a broad, full-bodied profile with considerable presence.
• Powerful crown structure: Wide natural edges extend across the bodies and form the distinctive Longding silhouette.
• Deep dimensional texture: Layered raised sections and recessed grooves give the pair a complex, sculptural surface.
• Closely compatible pairing: Both walnuts correspond in overall volume, edge direction, texture density, shell tone, and stance.

Maintenance Advice

During the first month, keep the pair inside a sealed storage bag whenever it is not being handled. Open the bag for short periods each day to allow gradual acclimatization, particularly in dry climates.

Handle the walnuts with clean, dry, bare hands. Gloves are not recommended for regular play, as direct contact supports a more natural and even color transition.

Brush the raised surfaces and deeper channels regularly with a clean, dry walnut brush. The pair has already been professionally pre-cleaned and base-brushed, so no washing or aggressive cleaning is required.

Avoid water, oil, chemical cleaners, prolonged sunlight, heating vents, air-conditioning outlets, and sudden changes in temperature or humidity.
