This listing features a breathtaking botanical wonder: an authentic, biologically matched "Same-Fruit Half-Wall" (Tong Guo Ban Bi) pair of traditional "Tortoise-Shell Hawk-Beak" (Gui Jia Wen Ying Zui) scholar walnuts shown in the photos.
Designated under Stock ID GJW-SY1B7, this collector-grade set is a true single-seedpod phenomenon. Both walnuts grew and matured side-by-side inside the exact same outer green fruit pod (Tong Guo). As they developed together, the inner touching faces flattened into smooth complementary "half-walls" (Ban Bi), while their crowns formed distinctively curved, hooked "Hawk-Beak" (Ying Zui) apexes. The pair measures a nimble 26.0mm across the primary horizontal edges and fields a deep 35.0mm in belly depth, presenting an astonishing 9mm inverse deep-bellied proportion. Scaled for agile fingertip rotation (Shou Nian), this single-inventory pair is ready for immediate worldwide shipping.

[The Story of the Tong Guo Ban Bi Ying Zui Lineage]
The Gui Jia Wen (Tortoise-Shell) lineage is celebrated for its dense, interconnected web of fine surface channels that directly mirror the plates of an ancient sacred tortoise. When paired with the sharp, hooked crown of the Hawk-Beak (Ying Zui) morphology, the silhouette takes on an alert, aggressive poise.
A true Same-Fruit Half-Wall (Tong Guo Ban Bi) pairing represents one of nature's rarest botanical configurations. When two seeds share a single seedpod, their inner faces flatten organically to accommodate each other's growth, creating a perfectly mated lock-and-glide interface, while the outer shells develop deep, high-relief tortoise-shell armor.
In traditional cultural folklore, this natural twin-pod harmony serves as a premier symbol of mutual complement, shared destiny, keen vision, and personal resilience. Sourced from high-altitude northern ranges, its bone-dense wood fiber responds beautifully to bare-hand manipulation, slowly shifting from a warm golden-tan into a deep, highly translucent ruby-red patina over time.
[Product Characteristics of GJW-SY1B7]
- Ultra-Agile 26x35mm Inverse Stance: Measuring an agile 26.0mm across the edges paired with an expansive 35.0mm depth across the bellies. This striking 9mm inverse layout gives the pair immense tactile volume relative to its width. The half-wall inner facets nestle naturally against each other, providing an exceptionally smooth, lock-and-glide circular roll in the fingers.
- Intricate Tortoise-Plate & Hawk-Beak Topography: The exterior curved face is sculpted with a masterfully balanced network of deep vertical channels, fine ripple networks, and hollowed-out tortoise-plate crevices, crowned by a distinct hooked apex. This high-relief texture completely avoids fragile nodes, providing excellent non-slip traction against the fingertips while delivering an invigorating micro-massage.
- Flawless Biological Symmetry & Straight Seams: Sourced from the exact same fruit pod, both pieces share identical wood fiber density, coloration, and grain structure. The primary vertical centerline seams run straight down the body and converge cleanly around a neatly centered, pristine basal navel.
- High-Density Wood-Bone Acoustics: Built with extra-thick internal wood-bone walls, this pair carries significant physical weight relative to its compact pocket footprint. When rotated or spun past one another, the mature bone-dense material produces a sharp, clean high-pitched ceramic chime rather than a muffled wooden clack.
[Maintenance Advice]
Because the "Tortoise-Shell Hawk-Beak" lineage features a highly responsive, bone-dense shell structure with an intricate network of fine surface folds, it is highly recommended to keep this pair in a sealed bag when resting between handling sessions for the first month. This practice safely traps natural skin lipids to guide a uniform, blotch-free oxidation process across both the smooth half-wall facets and deep outer recesses. Handling them directly with bare hands—completely skipping the use of gloves—is the definitive method to naturally develop a deep, high-gloss patina over time.

I am very happy with all my purchases and the attention given to each one. This is an outstanding company
Incredible service, I ordered a pair that sadly could not be shipped on account of a website error. Normally that would be a red flag; in this case however, an agent reached out to me immediately, allowed me to pick out an even higher quality pair and included some very thoughtful gifts. I’m extremely satisfied with my purchase and what started out as a mistake will have me returning here first whenever I want to expand my collection.
Class acts!
I ordered my Wenwans about 13 days ago. After contacting this company about a shipping issue they were able to solve it immediately as well as to rush the order. Literally just got mine today and they are absolutely gorgeous and very large! My Pair# is DGM-901. These are my very first high grades ones. Bought some crappy amazon ones for like 6 bucks to practice. I cannot wait to start my journey with these. I highly recommend this company for their outstanding customer service and quality control!
Thank you!
This company is Stellar. I’ve enjoyed the products I’ve Boughten for myself and gifts Ives given.
Love that you have miniature walnuts for those of us who have small hands.
These guys a great. Walnuts are high quality, and what you see is what you get, no random pairs that you may not like.
I've got 5 pairs off of them so far, and none have any flaws: no yellowing, pin holes, worm marks or cracks.
I'm not an expert, but I can't detect any dyes or processing on the nuts I have received.
They get back to you quickly if you have questions or issues.
Shipping is a couple weeks to canada since its off shore orgin. No big deal.
I do wish they would post the weights of the pairs as well in the listings, but this is minor.
I consider Zenwalnut to be the best north american walnut vendor hands down.
The box it came with is great and well made. The walnuts are out of this world. I don’t know how you find a three ridge mutation (Spartan motif) with such a good pairing. Even the basins complement each other, one elavated and the other depressed so they fit together. I highly recommend this seller if you want a reliable place where you can find rare, high quality walnuts. What you see in the pictures and videos is what you get. These are my second pair from zenwalnuts and I love both of them, thank you
The first pair I bought was a pair of minis, Packaging was amazing! Display case, and brushes were all under $100. I've been using them for just over a week. Excellent quality, I have dropped them once on accident of course over concrete while outside on the patio. I was quite concerned, I gave them a look over and no cracks, chips, or scratches were found. I am now looking into higher valued pairs. I will be buying other pairs for birthday gifts and collections. I posted them on FB and will continue to keep updates of the transformation every so often.
