Carrying the stock ID XYL-SY1G4, this pair belongs to the Xiayunling form, characterized by a relatively tall silhouette, defined pointed crowns, and strongly gathered vertical texture.

The Story of the Form

Xiayunling walnuts are recognizable for their upright proportions and strongly vertical visual structure.

This pair measures 37.0mm × 33.0mm, creating a taller and narrower silhouette than many broader Wenwan forms. The pointed crowns immediately draw the eye upward, while the main ridges descend through the center of each walnut and divide the surrounding texture into layered sections.

Rather than presenting a rounded or squat body, this pair has a more elongated appearance. The sides taper inward toward the crown, while deeper channels and irregular folds give the shell a naturally rugged character.

The two walnuts are not mirror copies—and should not be—but they share closely related proportions, crown shape, texture density, and shell tone, giving the pair a coherent overall presence.

Product Characteristics

Tall 37mm Profile
The 37.0mm height combined with a 33.0mm width creates a distinctly upright silhouette.

Pointed Crown Structure
Both walnuts feature defined tops that reinforce the vertical character of the pair.

Deep Natural Texture
Layered ridges and recessed channels create strong depth across the shell.

Compact Hand Feel
The narrower 33.0mm width makes this pair manageable for collectors who prefer smaller Wenwan walnuts.

Natural Matched Pairing
The pair is coordinated in overall proportions, texture style, coloration, and structural character while retaining the natural individuality of each walnut.

Care

During the early stage of ownership, use a dry Wenwan brush regularly to remove dust from the deeper recessed areas and help the surface develop evenly.

Avoid soaking the walnuts or applying excessive oil. Consistent dry brushing and natural hand contact are generally sufficient for gradual patina development.

Keep the pair away from sudden temperature changes, strong air-conditioning, heating vents, prolonged direct sunlight, and overly dry environments.

When not in use, store in a stable, dry location.
